Stage Builder

Stage builders will be competently trained to construct/dismantle scaffolding and stage decks for FLH Entertainment Staging Co. following all policies/procedures to provide clients entertainment stages for their concert or event. These tasks are frequently performed by teams of two or more stage builders that load, unload, and assemble various components which result in a finished stage. The environment requires working outdoors with various temperatures/weather conditions, in restricted/confined spaces, and at high elevations.
  • Must be highly motivated, possess good interpersonal skills, be able to work in a collaborative team environment and or work independently
  • Must be able to follow directions from supervision and meet daily goals
This position is located in Burrillville, RI; reliable transportation is required to and from various job sites within RI, MA, CT, ME, NH, VT, NY.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Have the ability to follow instructions
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license 
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Experience operating basic tools (wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, impact wrenches)
  • Candidate must be able to work in restricted/confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and high elevations
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to lift and handle steel scaffolding, various types of lumber including planks and plywood
  • Must be able to push and pull as part of the daily routine
  • Must have the ability to read/follow scaffolding drawings and company policies/procedures
  • Candidate must be available to work all assigned shifts
  • Must be willing to work overtime during the week, including weekends holidays, and shutdowns as business needs dictate
Preferred:
  • Carpentry or stage building experience
  • Experience with fall protection
  • Previous scaffolding experience and familiarity with Universal Scaffolding
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, a manufacturing environment, or related trade training

Skills:

  • Possess basic communication, and interpersonal skills

Physical Qualifications: Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Kneeling, Heavy Lifting (75+ lbs.), Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting

Environmental Attributes: Cold, Dry, Dusty, Hot, Noise, Outside, Wet

This is a 1099 “ON CALL”  Per Diem Position

You will be paid an hourly rate for drive time and fuel expense, then a different hourly rate while building stages. Rates are to be determined based on relevant experience and may increase within 30 days based on job performance. Some events/concerts you may be eligible to attend free of charge or at a discounted price.
